CPA Campaign Idea #2

Pay Per Click is a great business model to use along with CPA. In fact, if you took a poll, you would probably find that most CPA marketers tend to use PPC. That's because it is such a fast
method to drive targeted prospects to your offers, and there is relatively little work involved.

In fact, some offers are set up so that all you need to do is use your unique offer link and
direct PPC traffic straight through that. That means you can be up and running with a new
campaign in literally minutes. Of course, you will need to find relevant keywords, which is extremely important.

You can find good keywords to promote your CPA offers by using Google's keyword tool. Simply do a search in Google for this, and that tool should be the first result. Enter in a generic term, and
several other options should appear that are more targeted. Using these targeted keywords that are most likely to attract people who will complete your offer makes it so that you can easily make money with this technique.

Sometimes, you will not be able to use your unique offer a link in order to link directly from your
PPC campaign. In that case, you'll need to set up what is called a landing page. Don't be concerned -- a landing page can be quite simple and fast to create. In some cases, it is as little as one page for the entire website. Use some simple text, and add some graphics to attract people to the CPA offer.

To get some ideas of what you should do, it can be helpful to type in keywords you plan on targeting into Google. Then, you can visit some of the websites that show up in the ads to see what kind of landing pages they have designed. This will help you get a feel for what the niche you are targeting responds to the most (since these authors have probably been running their ads for a while). You can work on improving these methods and putting them to use right away.

While it can be amazingly profitable, you will have to be careful with PPC because it is quite
easy to let your money run away from you. You have to make sure that the conversions are high enough to cover your costs -- and more. Sometimes this can be difficult with the zip or e-mail submit offers if the conversions aren't very high. On the other hand, you can often earn 50% (or more) back on your money with a high converting campaign, which is great by anyone's standards.

This is a great campaign idea for your CPA offers. PPC is one of the most preferred methods for a
reason. The profits can be quite substantial, and the work can be minimal if it is all set up in the
right way!

CPA Campaign Plan #1

Dear reader,

If you've studied a little bit about CPA, you are probably very ready to get started promoting some offers. There are many different ways to go about this, and some are more profitable than others. Some methods will also be more appealing to you than others. It's best to read about a few different strategies before you decide on one, and then possibly expand on your strategies as you become an expert at using a particular one.

One of the easiest, and safest, methods to get started with is using simple article marketing and website techniques in order to promote CPA offers. Make sure the offer you are targeting allows you to promote via search engine optimization. Then, you can set up a simple website at places like Squidoo.com, Blogger.com, or any other easy site builder you are familiar with.

Choose a website address that is based on the CPA offer, or on the niche you are interested in. Then, add some content on the mini site you build, and make sure this content leads your visitors to click on your CPA offer. Your hope is that your little site gets enough visitors so that you make some great conversions. You can repeat this process by choosing different keywords to focus on so you have a bunch of "feelers" out there all bring you in very targeted traffic.

It's important to actively drive traffic to your site as well. You can write articles and submit them to sites like EzineArticles.com. You could even build several mini sites and connect them all together so that they count as backlinks to boost your rankings in the search engines.

Don't get carried away and try to promote to many offers on your mini site. It's best to focus on small, highly focused sites that lead your visitors to one thing and one thing only -- converting the CPA offer!

This method is not for you if you find article writing and site building to be tedious, or you do not need to rely on free methods to get started with CPA. This method is for you if you do not consider yourself to be highly technical (because sites like Squidoo and Blogger are very easy to use) or if you prefer to use free methods versus paid ones like pay per click.

This is a very simple method that is a good starting off point for many people. Once you've tested a few offers you can start to expand them and promote them in different ways. That way you'll have many chances of pulling a great income.

Types Of CPA Offers

There are many different CPA offers you might see as a CPA marketer. It can seem overwhelming at first to try and figure out what all the different offers are! Some common types you might run across are free trial offers, zip submit, e-mail submit,
and those that are similar to affiliate sales.

We'll start off with free trial offers, because they are so well loved by companies and by the marketers who promote the offers. That's because these free trial offers are often completely free to the customer, except for shipping. This way
they can get an excellent product for an incredibly low price. It's easy to promote these with the right product as enticement!

Since you are a marketer, you might be wondering how this benefits you. Well, even though the offer is free to the customer, the companies are generally more than willing to pay generous commissions (such as $20 -$100 per free offer sold) in exchange for this lead!

Do keep in mind that many of these free trial offers are forced continuity programs -- meaning that by accepting the free trial offer, your visitors are signing on for a monthly fee to receive the product every month. However, it is out of your hands and is for the company to deal with. Your job is just to bring that lead!

That means that you get a high commission on something that is easy to convert, and all you have to do is drive the customer there in the first place. These free trial offers are amazingly popular for a reason!

Another type of offer is zip submit. All people have to do in order for you to get paid is enter their zip code. The company presenting the offer always has something on the back end that is a way for them to collect the customer's information or get them to make a purchase. However, if it is a zip submit you get paid a certain amount just for that -- no matter if the customer ever buys from that company!

These are very easy to convert, though they are generally low-paying. You will tend to earn between $1-$5 for these offers. Still, if you are able to get a good volume of traffic, you can easily make money with zip submits.

A very similar type of offer is e-mail submit. List building is very valuable, and companies are willing to pay quite a bit in exchange for e-mail addresses. That's where you come in! All the customer needs to do is enter their e-mail address and you get paid. Like a zip submit, the payouts are fairly low, but you can make up for it in volume.

You will also find offers in many CPA networks that are very similar to other affiliate offers you might have come across. These generally pay per sale. For every sale you make, you will get a set percentage or dollar amount.

These are some of the types of CPA offers you will come across as you browse through the networks. It's a good idea to try different ones to see what you find converts best, depending on what niche you are working in. These offers can be quite
profitable for you!

PPC Ad Copy Strategies

Here are a few ad copy strategies to help make your PPC ads more relevant and generate a higher click-thru rate (CTR).

Hanging Ad Technique
Some marketers tell you that your first line should be a benefit and the second line should be a feature, but this is not necessarily true. By creating a “hanging ad” where the first line rolls into the second line (such as the ad below) gives you a better shot at having your prospect read your entire ad.
Specific Number Technique
I have tested that writing numbers in your ads can increase the click-thru rate. For example, instead of using the word “thousands,” you could use “1000’s.” I have also noticed that precise numbers also add more credibility to ads such as “12,454” rather than “12,000.”
Authority Site Technique
Some crafty advertisers have registered domain names that appear to look like reputable domain names. Advertisers realize the value of having a good display URL and will try to register domain names that look like an authority site.
For example, the domain name “www.www-doctor.com” looks almost the same as doctor.com in the display URL if the advertiser drops the “www.” prefix.

If you look at the two ads below, they look remarkably similar. The only difference being that the second ad is from an advertiser who doesn’t own the real www.doctor.com, but rather the www.www-doctor.com domain name.
Capitalization Technique
Another technique that I have seen other advertisers do to improve their click-thru rates is to capitalize each word in the display URL.
For example, for the domain www.medicaldoctor.com, you could get better results if you use www.MedicalDoctor.com in the display URL instead.

You should also test dropping the “www.” completely so you only have MedicalDoctor.com in the display URL.

You need to test these different variations to see which one has the best impact on your CTR.

Landing Page 101

The following are criteria that I follow when looking at a CPA offer to promote. I will look at the advertiser’s landing page and see how they rank against the criteria below.

Headline
Clarity
Relevance
Scarcity
Social Proof
Call To Action

Also keep in mind that if you are creating your own landing page, the same criteria above should be followed.

Headline
Marketing statistics indicate that the headline is responsible for 80% of the ad copy. This means that you literally have only a few seconds to grab the attention of the prospect. Make sure that the CPA offer that you are promoting has a clear headline that captures the prospect’s attention.
Use a headline that taps into the prospect’s emotions because people generally make decisions based on their emotions rather than logic.

I have placed a link below to a killer resource that lists a ton of best headline words and phrases. This will save you time and go a long way towards helping you create killer headlines even if you suck at ad writing. You can download it for free from the link below:
http://www.payperclickformula.com/bestheadlines.html

Clarity
The landing page should be clear and concise. If you choose to promote a CPA offer that has a landing page that is confusing, you will lose the prospect. You want to make sure that the landing page has a clean design and is easy to read.

Relevance
You need to connect the dots between what your advertisement reads whether it is a banner, PPC ad, text link, etc. to the landing page. Basically the prospect should know what to expect when they click on your link. If you are not relevant to what you promised the prospect in your ad, you will be wasting the click.

Scarcity
People generally will respond to an ad where they have something to lose more than an ad that shows them how they will gain.

People do not like the fear of loss.

That is why scarcity tactics such as a time limit or quantity limit work extremely well on a landing page. For example, if you look at some diet CPA offers, they have landing pages that indicate that there are only 75 free trial offers remaining.
A time limit such as “Expires In The Next 10 Minutes” also creates the sense of urgency for the prospect to complete the offer.

A great tool to use on your landing pages to increase urgency is IM Triggers.
IM Triggers http://www.imtriggers.com

Social Proof
Social proof works well in environments where people do not know what choice they should make. The use of testimonials or endorsements works well on landing pages because they provide that social proof. If you look at dieting offers like the Acai Berry offer on the next picture:

They use celebrity names like Dr. Oz and Rachael Ray to add social proof and credibility to their landing pages. People are more prone to fill out the offer because it appears as though a credible source such as Dr. OZ or Rachael Ray has endorsed the product.

Call To Action
Try to promote CPA offers that have the “call to action” above the fold. This means that as soon as the person sees the CPA landing page on the screen, the form which they need to fill in is right there. The call to action should clearly indicate to the prospect what the next course of action should be.

Your Own Landing Page

Now if you are using your own landing, you have a little bit more control over the look. A landing page is a bridge page between your visitor and the final CPA offer. Usually a bridge page will decrease conversions because you have now created an extra click process before the prospect reads the advertiser’s web site.

But if you can pre-sell the prospect on the CPA offer, it is possible to increase conversions with a landing page before you send them to the CPA offer.

The key to making this work is to continually split-test key elements of your landing page.

This could be such items as images, colours and fonts. But most importantly, you want to test different variations of the six criteria factors I mentioned earlier.

You will want to split-test headlines, call-to-actions, social proofs, etc. It is only through this tedious process that you will be able to make improvements and increase conversions.

Use Google Insights To gauge The Demand Of A CPA Offer

A great tool for gauging demand of a CPA offer is Google Insights (http://www.google.com/insights/search). Google Insights allows you to compare search volume patterns across specific regions, categories, and time frames.

In the above example, you can see that I have typed in the keyword “ringtones.” Marketing for CPA ringtone offers was huge back in 2003 and 2004 and I made a lot of money promoting ringtone offers. But using a tool like Google Insights, you can clearly see that the search volume for ringtones has dropped considerably.

The search volume was at its peak in 2004 and has dropped to about 40% of its peak volume in 2009.

So although it is still possible to make money with ringtone offers, don’t expect a repeat of the glory days way back in 2004.

Project Wonderful For Internet Marketers

Project Wonderful is a new service that help ordinary bloggers to sell ad spots on their blog. The Project Wonderful using ad banner to serve the advertising. Unlike Google Adsense which using PayPerClick revenue, Project Wonderful using flat pricing model.

For Advertisers, what is the advantage of using Project Wonderful?

Plain and simple, advertising space that is cheap. While many of the websites employing the service have little to no traffic, I have found some great buys and have been placing my ad (and getting hits) for no more than ten cents a day. The advantage comes in the fact that it is essentially an auction for ad space that is ongoing, and always gives you the best price possible. Using the system can be a great way to get some extra readers to your website.

What Should a Advertiser Consider When Choosing Project Wonderful?

Here are some things you should consider before signing up for Project Wonderful ads:

Website Traffic: How much traffic does the website get?

Other Avenues: What are your other sources for advertising - and do they have better prices?

Personal Appeal: Do you personally click on Project Wonderful ads? Not all online outlets you choose to advertise will make you personally want to “make the click”, but this is something to consider when picking any advertising route.

Tally The Results: Keep an eye on the results - and know when you are having success or slipping.

CPA + PPC Affiliate Marketing Guide (Part III)

5) More ways of getting traffic.
Google AdWords is a good way to get traffic but it is only one of three major search engines. Once you have setup your AdWords PPC campaigns you can create similar PPC campaigns using MSN AdCenter and Yahoo Search Marketing. As far as search engines go I recommend sticking with these three.

Another way to get traffic is to advertise using banner adverts for this I recommend using AdBrite. Most offers on NeverBlueAds come with banners so all you need to do is save them and upload them into AdBrite to sign up to AdBrite click here. Banner advertising isn’t that hard to master so feel free to test it out whenever you like.

Last but not least you can advertise using Facebook Ads. This takes some getting used to but you can find highly targeted traffic on Facebook.

Feel free to advertise the offers your promoting using any other method you can think of as the more traffic you get the more chance you have of making sales.

CPA + PPC Affiliate Marketing Guide (Part II)

4) Creating your PPC campaign.
First you will need to log into your Google AdWords account. Once logged in you want to create a campaign, you can do this by going to where it says “Create a new campaign” and then clicking on the link that reads “keyword-targeted” .

This will then take you to the campaign creation page. On this page you will first need to name your campaign and then name your ad group. This is for your own reference only and wont effect any aspect of the actual advert you are about to make.

This said it makes sense and helps you track your adverts if you name your campaign by the offer you are promoting. For example if promoting “Young, Energetic, and Slender” then you should name your campaign “Young, Energetic, and Slender”. As for ad groups these are just variations of the campaign they can have different ads/keywords then other ad groups. I simply name them using numbers for example “ad group 1” next would be “ad group 2” and so on.

Also make sure that English is selected as the language of your customers (unless of course the people you want to target speak another language)

Finally on this page you will need to select the country that you wish to target. The country will depend on the offer you are promoting so select appropriately and then click continue.

You will then be taken to the page where you must write your advert. This is the advert people will see when they use Google search or see your advert on a site using Google AdSense. I have put together a mock up advert for “Young, Energetic, and Slender” below.

The destination URL needs to be your affiliate link. This is taken from the Young, Energetic, and Slender offer at NeverBlueAds. The image below shows where you can find this. You will need to copy this and then paste it into the Destination URL. (note: most offers let you link directly to them so there is no need for your own landing page)

Once you have done this, click continue and you will be taken to the “choose keywords” page.

On the “choose keywords” page you must choose your keywords. Your keywords are words or phrases that will trigger your advert to show. When one of your keywords is searched for on Google then your advert will be displayed. Your keywords also effect your adverts showing in AdSense as if the keywords are present on a website then that website should show your advert.

You should pick keywords that relate to the offer you are promoting and that you believe people will be searching for. If you need more keywords you can use Google’s “Want more?” feature. Simply enter a keyword for example “weight loss” and the want more feature will give you a list of words and phrases that relate to the keyword you have entered. You can then add these one by one.

Once you are done picking your keywords click continue and you will be taken to the “set pricing” page. On this page you will need to set your daily budget and your max CPC. These will effect how often your ad is shown and how many clicks you get. A high CPC will mean lots of clicks but they will come at a price so be sure to set your budget and CPC to what you can afford. Once you have set both your daily budget and CPC you can click continue and you will be taken to the final stage of setting up your PPC campaign and this is to simply review all you have done.

If you are happy with what you have click “Save Campaign”. Depending on your keywords and bids your ad should start showing and brining you traffic within 1-2 hours. You can then log into NeverBlueAds and track your sales live.

CPA + PPC Affiliate Marketing Guide (Part I)

In this guide I will give step by step instructions on how and where to find CPA offers/campaigns and how to promote them using PPC (pay per click) advertising.

So let’s get started!

1) Finding offers
One of if not the most important factor in being able to make money with PPC advertising is to find high quality and high paying offers to promote. I personally recommend using NeverBlueAds for this. At NeverBlueAds you will be able to search through a large amount of both high quality and high paying offers. In this guide I will be using an offer from the NeverBlueAds network to show you how to start promoting CPA offers. If you haven’t already signed up to NeverBlueAds click here to sign up (your account on average should be approved very quickly).

2) Setting up a Google AdWords account.
Most people already have a Google AdWords account, if you don’t have one don’t worry just sign up for one now. Google AdWords is used to advertise the offer you wish to promote. In addition to Google AdWods I recommend you sign up to MSN AdCenter and Yahoo Search Marketing (You can sign up now and receive $25 free credit on your Yahoo account).

3) Selecting an offer.
Once you have become a member of NeverBlueAds you need to pick an offer to promote. To do this first log into your NeverBlueAds account, now on the main log in page you will need to click the “campaigns” tab (this can be found near the top of the page). Once on the campaigns page you can either browse/search through the different offers they have or click the “Top Search Campaigns” link (see below)

Clicking top search campaigns will give you a list of the best performing offers on NeverBlueAds. These offers have a proven track record and are offers that people are making most money from. Although these offers are the best performing ones they also have the most competition, finding an offer that isn’t listed in the top campaigns will have lower competition and in some cases can perform just as well.

Overall I try and find offers that have high CPA payouts. This way I can afford to spend more per click promoting the offer.

In this guide I will be using the “Young, Energetic, and Slender” offer from NeverBlueAds. The offer is currently paying $30 per free trial signup (you will get $30 each time a person orders the free trial) along with the offer having 5/5 for Network Earnings.

Once you have found the offer you wish to work with you will need to setup your PPC campaigns and start promoting it.

How To Choose Right CPA Offers

Browse your CPA affiliate networks campaigns regularly, to say once in a day, for seasonal and time sensitive offers. Most of the CPA Affiliate Networks offer new CPA Advertisements regularly. Always be on the lookout for seasonal and time sensitive offers. Also, be the first to promote a new CPA advertisement, this could bring good and impulsive click through rates. Try and pick the CPA Offers that are not totally dominated because it is very easy to focus where there is less competition and not over saturated.

From my experience, though both email and zip submits have more success rates, as an audience, I would prefer doing zip submits than email submits.Lastly, when looking for a CPA offer to promote try and pick something that you don’t commonly see being promoted. Stay away from free iPods, Macy’s gift cards and other crap like that.

While promoting CPA Offers, think in terms of yourself as a targeted visitor. Ask yourserlf if this CPA Offer appeals you. It should appeal to the emotions that can bring impulsive responses from the audience.

Your targeted audience must not worry too much while filling out a CPA Advertisement. Audience can be desperate, trendy, naive, tech savvy or expecting something for free while they do your CPA Offers.

Also, take care that the CPA offers are simple and require a less interaction by your targeted audience. If you have options to consider CPA Advertisements in a particular niche which carries both email submits and zip submits, then prefer for zip submit CPA Offers.

AdNetworks to allow multiple publishers to sign up and promote their offers.

Why Should You Choose CPA Marketing?

No actual sales pitching (or even actual sales) needed
With CPA offers, you don’t have to be pushy or even create a sales page that convinces people of anything. You can make money by offering something in exchange for something as simple as their zip code. The best part about that is, you’re not even responsible for delivering the promised reward - the advertiser is.

People love deals and freebies
Internet users are skeptical by nature, but tend to let their guards down a bit when they see a deal or a freebie. This is especially true when all they have to do in exchange is give up their zip code or email. This makes conversions for you not nearly as much work as a bigger campaign to sell your own product or other bigger type of sale.
It’s easy money in comparison to many other types of affiliate marketing as well. The visitors don’t have to spend any money for you to make money which is a huge advantage in getting increased conversions

Deal with big businesses
Although you’re not dealing with the advertisers directly, you are in fact an affiliate of huge advertisers such as Apple, who’s offers include iPods, Macbooks and other great products.
